Visit Shaviyani Atoll


The Shaviyani Atoll region is a province in the Maldives, consisting of 74 islands situated around the three atolls of Miladhummadulu, Mila and Fuvahmulah. It is known for its stunning beaches and amazing dive spots.

Tourists visiting the region are sure to find plenty of things to do here: from exploring its many islands for an adventurous experience, to simply relishing its serene beauty on one of its white sandy beaches. Nature lovers can look forward to snorkeling or diving in some of the best dive spots such as Noonu Kando Kalo located at Fulidhoo Island. Those interested in culture can visit historical sites like Fonadu Bonde Burunge Monument which dates back over 400 years ago.

Apart from these tourist attractions, Shaviyani Atoll also has many interesting historical facts associated with it; it was considered a major trading hub between India and East Africa during ancient times. The area also played significant role in spreading Islam throughout the country during early 17th century when locals converted from Buddhism to Islam following a royal decree issued by the Sultan Mohamed Thakurufaanu Al-Auzam - one of most influential figures in Maldivian history!
