The Thaa Atoll region of the Maldives is a mix of charming villages, beautiful beaches and vibrant coral reefs. It consists of 54 islands with many uninhabited ones that are surrounded by stunning turquoise lagoons and lush tropical vegetation. The region has something to offer for everyone, whether its underwater activities like snorkeling and scuba diving or an exploration of its historical sites.

One must-visit place in Thaa Atoll is Utheemu Ganduvaru, a 400-year old palace located on an island called Utheemu. Visitors can explore the grand halls where local royalty once lived and see artifacts from different periods in the country's history. Another place to visit in this region is Fonimagoodhoo Island, which not only offers some excellent spots for snorkeling but also has lush greenery and spectacular views from rocky outcrops on the island.
