Gozo is a small island region located off the north coast of Malta. It is well known for its stunning architecture, crystal clear waters, and rich cultural heritage. Gozo has something to offer everyone - whether it be relaxing on one of the many sandy beaches, enjoying some sightseeing and exploring its rugged landscapes, or discovering its fascinating historical sites.

One must-see touristy place in Gozo is the world-famous Ggantija Temples, which are some of the oldest free-standing structures in the world dating back to 3600 BC. Another popular site to visit is Citadella, a medieval fortress that stands high above Victoria and offers panoramic views of all parts of Gozo.

An interesting fact about Gozo is that it was once an independent nation state with its own flag! The Republic of Gozo lasted from 1797 until 1800 when it was annexed by French forces during Napoleon's campaign in Malta.
