Visit South Eastern Region

The South Eastern Region of Malta is a Mediterranean paradise set along the coast of the Mediterranean Sea. It is home to some of Malta's most famous tourist attractions and historical sites. Among them are Valletta, a World Heritage Site with stunning architecture and cultural activities; Mdina, an ancient walled city known for its cobbled streets and Baroque palaces; and The Azure Window, a natural limestone arch found on Gozo Island.

In addition to its many beautiful beaches, this region has plenty of interesting things to do throughout the year. Guests can explore St Peter's Pool, an iconic natural swimming pool bordered by rocky outcrops; or visit Hal Tarxien Temples for its prehistoric ruins dating back 4500 years ago.

This area also boasts two UNESCO World Heritage Sites: Megalithic Temples of Hagar Qim & Mnajdra located on top of a hill overlooking the sea; as well as Hal Saflieni Hypogeum where one can find Neolithic burial chambers carved in stone from around 5000 years ago.
