Visit Dakhlet Nouadhibou

The Dakhlet Nouadhibou Region of Mauritania is a coastal region in the northwest of the country bordered by the Atlantic Ocean and Morocco. It is home to some of Mauritania's most beautiful beaches, including Cabo Blanco, La Caleta and Laguna del Cordon. The area also offers spectacular dunes and wildlife such as flamingos, pelicans and hawks.

In terms of attractions, visitors should definitely check out La Caleta beach - a paradise for fishers and beachgoers alike, with its crystal-clear waters and white sandy beaches. Nearby is the Grand Mosque at Nuadibuo which features an interesting blend of Spanish-colonial architecture set in an Islamic style.

One historical fact about Dakhlet Nouadhibou is that it was formerly under French rule until it achieved independence from France in 1960 along with much of French West Africa. Since then it has remained one of the most attractive regions for tourists visiting Mauritania due to its idyllic scenery and rich cultural history.
