Cargados Carajos is an archipelago in the Indian Ocean, located about 430 km off the coast of Mauritius. The province consists of five islands, also known as the Saint Brandon archipelago.

One of the top tourist attractions are its crystal clear waters and pristine white beaches, perfect for swimming and snorkeling. Other places to visit include Cocoteraie Island with its colorful coral reef and La Passe Nature Reserve which is a paradise for nature lovers.

The region has a rich history as well; it is said to have been visited by Arab seafarers in 12th century who named them 'Oman' or 'Caracol'. It was later declared a French protectorate from 1638-1810 but eventually became part of Mauritius after French colonization ended.
