Quatre Bornes is a small town located in the heart of Mauritius. It is known for its bustling markets, traditional Mauritian food and lively nightlife. Tourists can visit the Grand Baie Square Shopping Mall, one of the largest shopping malls in the country, or take a stroll through Le Jardin Du Roy to admire its stunning gardens and colorful flowers.

For those interested in historical sites, Quatre Bornes offers some great attractions. The National History Museum showcases artifacts from throughout Mauritian history while Jardin de la Compagnie offers an interesting insight into the French colonial period with its old factories and barracks.

One particularly interesting historical site is L'Esperance Mausoleum which stands on top of a hill overlooking Quatre Bornes. Built in 1819, it commemorates Louis Prosper Dupleix who was Governor General of French India from 1742-1754 and helped establish trade between France and India.
