The Rodrigues of Mauritius is an island located in the Indian Ocean, east of Madagascar and north-east of Mauritius. It is known for its pristine beaches, crystal clear waters and secluded atmosphere. Home to a population of around 40,000 people, it has been referred to as a paradise on Earth.

One popular tourist destination on the Rodrigues island is Anse Quitor Beach - a stunning white sand beach with crystal-clear water that's great for swimming and snorkeling. Another interesting place to visit is La Ferme de Vieux Grand Port - a botanical garden that features native plants from the region as well as exotic species from around the world.

The history of human occupation in Rodrigues dates back over 5,000 years ago when it was first settled by Malagasy people who arrived from Madagascar and East Africa. Over time, new settlers came primarily from India and Europe, leading to an interesting blend of cultures today that make up Rodriguan society!
