Visit Anenii Noi District

The Anenii Noi District is situated in the central part of Moldova, and it covers an area of about 1,610 square kilometers. It is surrounded by four other districts including Soroca, Rezina, Dubasari and Briceni. The region is mainly rural, with some small towns scattered throughout the countryside.
Anenii Noi city itself is a great place to visit and learn more about Moldovan culture. The town centre was built during Soviet times with typical architecture from that period still standing today. Additionally there are many cultural sites such as churches and monasteries within close proximity to the district's capital - all worth exploring for their historical value as well as picturesque landscapes they provide.
Two interesting tourist spots in Anenii Noi are Kosmos Monument which serves as a memorial to those fallen during World War II; and Orheiul Vechi - "Old Orhei" - an old settlement placed on an archaeological site containing ruins of several churches from different periods of time like Cucuteni-Trypillian Culture or Medieval Periods. These two places offer a unique insight into Moldova's long history dating back over 5000 years ago!
