Visit Bălți Municipality

The Balti Municipality is located in Moldova, in northeastern Romania. It is the second largest municipality in the country and a centre of commerce and culture. It has a population of over 140 000 people, most of whom are ethnically Romanian.

For tourists, there are many things to do here; some popular attractions include the Palace of Culture, the Catacombs Museum, and St Nicholas Church - all of which offer a glimpse into Moldovan history and culture. Nature lovers should head to the nearby Codri Forest Reserve or Lake Bacioara for outdoor activities such as hiking and biking. For those looking to shop, take advantage of local markets including it's weekly farmers market held every Saturday morning at Piata Centrala (Central Square).

An interesting historical fact about Balti Municipal is that it was once home to a Soviet-era military base which was used during World War II as part of Operation Barbarossa - Hitler's plan to invade Russia. The remains can still be found around today's city limits!
