Visit Cantemir District

The Cantemir District of Moldova is located in the south-eastern part of the country, on the partially-recognized border with Ukraine. It is known for its varied topography, which includes large fields and forests as well as small hills and valleys. The district is renowned for its beautiful wooden churches, rural villages, and local vineyards.

The sparsely populated region has many interesting attractions to explore. One popular site to visit is the Curchi Monastery; it was built in 1773 and features stunning frescoes on its walls. Another must-see spot in the district is Tower Hill - a former settlement dating back to medieval times where visitors can find ancient ruins and hidden caves that make for an exciting adventure.

Cantemir also boasts a rich historical heritage; it was named after Dimitrie Cantemir - Moldovan politician, scholar, musician and author from the 18th century who wrote one of the first modern works on philosophy of history titled "Descriptio Moldaviae". This makes Cantemir District an ideal destination for those interested in exploring Moldova's history and culture
