Chisinau is the largest city and the capital of Moldova. It is situated in the middle of the country, on the banks of River Bac. The city has a rich history and culture that can be seen in its architecture, monuments, museums, galleries and churches.

Chisinau offers many attractions for visitors to explore. One must-see destination is Valea Morilor Lake Park with its natural beauty, green spaces and recreational areas. Another popular spot to visit is Botanical Garden which features more than 5,000 species of plants from around the world.

Historically speaking, Chisinau was originally founded as a monastery village by monks from nearby Neamt Monastery in 1436 before being chartered as a town in 1818 by Russian Tsar Alexander I. Nowadays it stands out as an important economic center for Moldova's vibrant economy with multiple universities based here too making it a hub for young people throughout Eastern Europe.
