Visit Cimișlia District


The Cimislia District is an administrative region located in the center of Moldova. This district abounds in picturesque landscapes, with vineyards that offer some of the best wines in the country. The mild climate and beautiful scenery make it an ideal destination for nature lovers.

One of the most popular tourist attractions is Orheiul Vechi (Old Orhei), an ancient archaeological complex which dates back to the 14th century and includes old fortifications, monasteries, churches and various other archaeological sites. Visitors can also visit Museum Square, located at the heart of Cimislia city. It houses a museum dedicated to wine production as well as many interesting artifacts from centuries past.

An interesting fact about this area is that it was part of Romania until 1940 when it was annexed by Soviet Union following World War II. This region continues to be culturally linked with Romania today through language and many traditions still followed by locals.
