Visit Telenești District

The Telenesti District located in the central part of Moldova is a great place to explore and discover. This picturesque area is filled with vineyards, rolling hills, forests and rivers. It's home to several unique villages and towns that have been around for centuries. The district's main city is Telenesti which boasts many interesting tourist attractions such as the 18th century Soroca Fortress and its historical museum, along with its 19th century wooden architecture and cobblestone streets. Located nearby are two famous monasteries, Japca Monastery which was built in 1564 by Stephen I of Moldavia, and Hincu Monastery which was constructed by Saint Parascheva some 800 years ago.

The region also has some interesting historical sites from the World War II era including an underground bunker complex at Vadul lui Isac where Soviet forces were stationed during Nazi occupation of Moldova between 1941-1944. Visitors can also explore one of Europe's largest rock churches at Saharna Monastery or take a stroll through Valeni village to see traditional houses built in 1775 still standing today!
