The Ovorkhangai Province is located in the south-central part of Mongolia. It lies between the capital city of Ulaanbaatar and China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The province covers an area of over 50,000 square kilometers, and its highest mountain peak reaches an altitude of 4,213 meters.
