Selenge is one of the 21 provinces of Mongolia, located in the north of the country. It is well known for its abundant nature, wide open spaces and beautiful landscapes.
The province boasts numerous hot springs, providing an ideal destination for travelers who love to get away from it all and relax in nature's embrace. There are also a number of cultural attractions such as Chingeltei Khudag - a famous Buddhist monastery that dates back to the 17th century; and Moron - a historic town with numerous old monuments and buildings.

A visit to Selenge Province wouldn't be complete without visiting Lake Khovsgol - an amazing freshwater lake surrounded by mountains which is home to many species of birds and fish; or Mount Khuiten - a sacred mountain standing 4,374 metres high overlooking magnificent views and featuring an interesting peak shaped like a rhino's horn.

An interesting historical fact about Selenge Province is that it was once part of the ancient Uyghur Empire during medieval times. During this period, many people settled in this area due to its advantageous strategic location on trade routes between Russia and China.
