Guelmim-Oued Noun is a region situated in the far southwestern corner of Morocco. It is bordered by Western Sahara to the south and Algeria to the east and has a coastline on the Atlantic Ocean. The region is known for its sun-soaked beaches, towering sand dunes, lush oases, ancient Kasbahs and Berber villages. It's also home to some of Morocco's most spectacular national parks. Tourists looking for adventure can explore Guelmim-Oued Noun's breathtaking beauty with a range of activities such as hiking in Sidi Moussa National Park or exploring Foum Assaka, an area of rock formations near Tan Tan Plage. There are also two major cities worth visiting - Tan Tan and Guelmin - with great historical monuments such as Jbel Tirgane Mosque in Guelmin or La Grand Mosquee de Tiznit in Tiznit. An interesting historical fact about this region is that it was one of the original founders of Tafilalt Kingdom during 16th century which later became part of Morocco's kingdom in 1549 AD.
