Maputo Province in Mozambique is a region of spectacular natural beauty and cultural attractions. Located in the southern part of the country, Maputo Province is bordered by South Africa, Swaziland and Zimbabwe. The capital city of Maputo was founded in 1544 and has grown to become one of Africa's most vibrant cities, with modern high-rise buildings alongside stunning colonial architecture. Along with its urban areas, Maputo Province also offers some great tourist attractions including Inhaca Island for beach lovers and Xai-Xai for wildlife spotting opportunities. Nature lovers can explore beaches backed by sand dunes or head inland to experience the wildlife in Gorongosa National Park.

History buffs will be glad to know that one of the oldest Portuguese settlements in East Africa lies within this province - Ilha de Mocambique, where various historical remains such as St Paul's Church are still standing today - a must-see if you're traveling through! Other interesting sites include Lourenco Marques Museum which houses valuable artifacts from early European settlement and Fortaleza de Nossa Senhora da Conceicao built back in 1625 as part of Portuguese efforts to secure their trade routes against piracy attacks!
