Pyay is a city located in the Bago Region of Myanmar. It is situated on the banks of the Irrawaddy River, approximately 300 kilometers northwest of Yangon. Pyay has a long and rich history, having been ruled by both the Mon and Burmese Empires over its two thousand year existence.
