Visit Kachin State

Kachin State is located in the northernmost part of Myanmar, bordering India and China. It is a picturesque mountainous region with lush forests and crystal clear rivers, home to a diverse range of ethnicities.

One popular tourist attraction in Kachin State is Hkataw Mountain Range, where visitors can enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside or explore nearby villages. Another must-see destination is Indawgyi Lake - the largest body of freshwater in Southeast Asia - known for its stunning sunsets and abundant bird life.

Kachin State also has an interesting history: it was originally known as 'Jinghpaw' by its inhabitants who have inhabited this area since at least 11th century CE. The state was annexed by British in 1886 during their colonization of Burma (Myanmar). In 1948, Kachin declared independence but was soon after brought under Burmese control again following an armed rebellion against the central government. Today it remains an autonomous state within Myanmar's union while still maintaining a rich cultural identity distinct from that found elsewhere in the country.
