Discover Mandalay
Mandalay is the second largest city in Myanmar and the former seat of royalty. Located on the banks of the Irrawaddy River, Mandalay has become an important Buddhist pilgrimage centre, thanks to its numerous monasteries and temples scattered throughout the city. A vibrant city alive with colour and culture, Mandalay is a great place to explore traditional Myanmar life. When visiting Mandalay make sure to experience some of its top attractions such as U Bein Bridge - one of Asia's oldest teakwood bridges; Mahamuni Pagoda - home to one of Myanmar's most sacred Buddha images; and on Mandalay Hill you can enjoy incredible views from atop this sacred hill. There are also many craft centres throughout the city specialising in woodcarving, gold leaf-making and tapestry weaving offering a truly unique experience for visitors.
