The Oshana Region of Namibia is brimming with vibrant culture, nature and adventure. It is located in the northern part of the country and covers an area of 15,875 square kilometers. The region has a population of over 240,000 people who speak mainly Oshindonga as their primary language.

The landscapes are dominated by open grasslands interspersed with waterholes and seasonal rivers such as the Kavango River which forms its southern border. Visitors can explore traditional villages along the river or take a game drive through Etosha National Park to see some of Africa's most iconic wildlife including lions, elephants and rhinos. Other touristy places include Ongwediva Town which is home to craft markets and cultural attractions, or trek through dense forests such as Bwabwata National Park for wildlife spotting opportunities.

Oshana has a rich history dating back centuries when it was ruled by several local chiefs including Chief Shuumbwa Nangolo who defended his ancestral land during WWI against German forces occupying Namibia at that time. Visitors can learn about this fascinating period at Okahandja Historical Museum where they will discover artefacts from pre-colonial times through to modern day life in Oshana Region today.
