Oshikoto is a region in Namibia located in the northern part of the country. It borders Kunene, Ohangwena, Oshana and Omusati regions. It is an area of great natural beauty with majestic rivers, rocky hills and plains as well as many species of wildlife and plants.

One popular tourist destination in Oshikoto is Etosha National Park, home to a huge variety of African wildlife including elephants, lions and zebras. There are also several smaller parks within the region such as Omutsegwi Dam Nature Reserve which offers scenic views of lakes and wetlands ideal for bird watching or fishing.

Historically, Oshikoto has been home to various peoples over the centuries including Herero people from Botswana who migrated south into Namibia during colonial times. In 1945-46 it was declared a political homeland by South Africa's apartheid government and remained so until Namibian independence in 1990. The legacy of this period can still be seen today throughout the region in its architecture, language and culture.
