Visit Zeeland

Zeeland is a province located in the southwestern part of the Netherlands. It borders both Belgium and the North Sea and has miles of coastline, complete with beautiful beaches and plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy. Zeeland is known for its rich history, going all the way back to prehistory when it was used as a burial ground for tribes from Germany.

When visiting Zeeland, one must-see destination is Domburg Beach. This beach stretches for nearly two kilometers along a coastal dune landscape, providing stunning views and plenty of opportunities for swimming or sunbathing. Neeltje Jans Waterpark near Vrouwenpolder is another great spot to explore; this award-winning attraction offers educational exhibits about Dutch water management as well as fun rides suitable for all ages!

Perhaps the most interesting historical fact about Zeeland concerns its involvement in World War II. After being occupied by Nazi Germany during much of 1940-1945, Zeeland experienced one of Europe's largest evacuations when nearly 800,000 people were relocated out of their homes due to flooding associated with Allied bombings and extreme weather conditions caused by sea storms.
