Marlborough is a stunning region on the northern tip of New Zealand's South Island. Its iconic Marlborough Sounds offer some of the country's most spectacular and serene scenery, with towering mountains, lush rainforests, pristine beaches and an array of marine life. The region is home to beautiful vineyards and wineries that produce world-renowned Sauvignon Blancs.

The area was first settled by Maori tribes many centuries ago and European settlers arrived at the end of the 18th century - Blenheim became established as New Zealand's first planned town in 1855. It was named after John Churchill, 1st Duke of Marlborough - whose descendant Sir Winston Churchill was born here in 1874!
