The Northland region of New Zealand is a beautiful and diverse area located on the northern tip of the country. It's known for its stunning beaches, lush native forests, and great local seafood. There are plenty of activities to enjoy in this area, such as swimming with dolphins and fishing off the many bays around its coast.

One must-see tourist spot is the Bay of Islands, where visitors can explore 144 islands dotting the water between Russell and Cape Brett. There they can also find historical sites such as Waitangi Treaty House & Grounds, built in 1840 as a gathering place for Maori chiefs to sign New Zealand's founding treaty with Britain.

Another tourist destination is Waipoua Forest, home to one of the oldest living trees in New Zealand: Tane Mahuta ("Lord of the Forest"), which stands over 50 meters tall and is estimated to be more than 2,000 years old! With plenty of outdoor activities like hiking and kayaking available throughout this region, there's something for everyone in Northland!
