Wellington is the vibrant capital of New Zealand, located on the southern tip of North Island. It is best known for its beautiful harbor, green hills, and exciting city life. With a population of just over 400,000 people, Wellington offers plenty to explore for locals and tourists alike.

One must-see destination is Te Papa Museum - New Zealand's national museum which features interactive exhibitions showcasing the country's culture and history as well as unique modern art displays. Another popular attraction is Mount Victoria Lookout - a hilltop offering stunning views across Wellington City and beyond.

For some relaxation, try visiting Otari-Wilton's Bush - an inner-city ecological reserve with native plants and wildlife walks in tranquil natural surrounds. Or enjoy some retail therapy in one of many shopping arcades or boutique stores in downtown Wellington.

History buffs will be interested to know that it was founded in 1840 after British settlers signed the Treaty of Waitangi with Maori chiefs at nearby Petone beach - now considered one of New Zealand's most important historical sites.
