The Tillaberi region of Niger is situated in the western part of the country, close to the borders with Mali and Burkina Faso. It is known for its agricultural potential and diverse animal life, as well as its rich cultural heritage. The main ethnic group in the area are the Songhai people who have a long history in this part of West Africa.

Tillaberi has several interesting places to visit, including Tera village which offers visitors a unique insight into traditional West African culture; or for those looking for something different there is Lake Dallol Bosso National Park which provides amazing bird watching opportunities amongst spectacular scenery.

Another highlight is Koure Giraffe Reserve which hosts one of Niger's five giraffe populations - making it a must-visit spot for wildlife enthusiasts! For those interested in local history, Tillaberi was once part of an ancient kingdom called Kourfey founded by members of Songhai people during the late 14th century - making it an important historical site.
