Visit Tillabéri Region

The Tillaberi Region of Niger is located in the western part of the country and has a population of over 1 million people. It is home to numerous cultural and historical sites, as well as stunning natural landscapes. The main cities in the region include Say, Ouallam, and Tera.

One popular tourist destination is Lake Faguibine, Niger's largest lake. Its shallow waters are a paradise for bird watchers with more than 80 species recorded living on its shores including flamingos and pelicans. Another great spot for visitors is Dallol Bosso National Park where you can see the ancient rock formations formed by wind erosion over millions of years.

Tillaberi also has an interesting history, having been inhabited by humans since at least 500 BC when it was part of the Bornu Empire--one of Africa's oldest kingdoms. In addition to this, Tillaberi was once a major trading center for slaves being moved from Africa to Europe during colonial times which makes it an important site for understanding African history today.
