Visit Katsina State

Katsina State is located in the north-western region of Nigeria. It is bordered by Kano, Jigawa, and Zamfara to the east and by Kaduna and Sokoto to the south. The capital of Katsina State is Katsina City, which was established in 1650 and was once a thriving trading hub between northern Africa and the Middle East.

Katsina State is home to many notable tourist attractions such as Daura Durbar Festival, where traditional chieftains gather in their colorful attire; Yankari National Park with its wildlife sanctuary, crystal clear springs and hot springs; and Kurfi Hills Nature Reserve which offers spectacular views of rolling hillsides.

For a more historical experience visitors can check out Ilorin Town Museum which houses ancient artifacts from pre-colonial times or visit Ruma National Park where archaeological sites dating back 7th century are preserved. An interesting fact about Katsina State is that it has been described within Islamic texts as "the best place for human beings on earth" since it has always held great significance for Muslim pilgrims from around the world due to its proximity to Mecca.
