Visit Nepean Island

Nepean Island of Norfolk Island is a small island located in the Pacific Ocean 575 kilometres east of the mainland of Australia. It is a popular tourist destination, known for its untouched natural beauty and unique wildlife. Visitors can take part in activities such as swimming, surfing, snorkeling, fishing and hiking.

One must-visit location on Nepean Island is Emily Bay, which offers some of the finest swimming spots on the island and tranquil views overlooking to neighbouring Phillip Island. Here visitors can explore historic shipwrecks in their glass-bottom boats or relax on one of its many white sand beaches with crystal clear waters.

Norfolk Island also has an interesting history that dates back to 1788 when it served as a convict settlement for Britain's prisoners from New South Wales and Van Diemen's Land (now Tasmania). Today visitors can explore these sites at Kingston and Arthur's Vale Historic Area (KAVHA) including historical buildings such as St Barnabas Chapel which was built by convicts between 1836-1839.
