Visit Hambuk


The Hambuk, or "Northern Region" of North Korea, is a beautiful area full of natural landscapes and breathtaking views. It is located in the far north of the country, on the border with China. This region is home to several tourist attractions, such as Mount Myohyangsan and Lake Chon, both of which offer incredible hiking trails and stunning views. The area also boasts a rich historical legacy; one particularly interesting site is Kuwol Mountain Fortress from the Koguryo period (37 BC-668 AD). This fortress was built by ancient kings to protect their lands from invaders.

In terms of things to do for visitors to the region, there are many great options available. Tourists can explore some of North Korea's most famous sites like the International Friendship Exhibition Hall or take a visit around Pyongyang City Park. Both places offer wonderful insight into North Korean culture and history with its unique architecture and monuments respectively. There are also plenty of traditional markets where people can buy souvenirs or experience life as it has been in this region for centuries!
