Visit Yanggang

The Yanggang is a province in the far northeastern corner of North Korea, bordered by China and Russia. It has stunning natural landscapes, including Mount Paektu, an active volcano on the China-North Korea border that is the highest peak in all of Korea. The area also has a rich cultural heritage with many traditional Korean festivals celebrated throughout the year. One popular tourist destination is Ryongmun Cave, located near Mount Paektu. It features beautiful stalactites and limestone formations with illuminated pathways deep underground.

An interesting historical fact about Yanggang Province is that it was once part of Manchuria prior to 1945 when it was annexed by North Korea and became part of the country's modern boundaries. The region played an important role in Korean history as a strategic base during several wars over three centuries ago. Today, it remains an important agricultural region for North Koreans due to its proximity to both China and Russia.
