The Southeastern region of North Macedonia is known for its beautiful landscapes, vibrant culture and historical sites. Home to the stunning Ohrid Lake, the area boasts plenty of outdoor activities, such as fishing, swimming and boat rides. The city of Strumica is also a popular destination in the region with many historical sites to explore. In addition to its natural beauty, it's also home to some unique cultural events such as the Struga Poetry Evenings held every summer and attended by people from all over the world.

Some of the must-visit tourist attractions in this area include Stobi - an ancient Roman city located halfway between Skopje and Thessaloniki - and Samuil's Fortress located in Ohrid which was built more than a thousand years ago by Byzantine emperor Samuel I.

An interesting fact about this region is that it has been inhabited since Neolithic times; archaeological discoveries have revealed settlements dating back 7500 BC! This makes it one of most important archaeological sites in Europe.
