Visit Vardar


The Vardar region of North Macedonia is a picturesque area filled with lush forests, mountain peaks, and lush valley views. The Vardar River is an important part of the landscape, with numerous towns along its banks. Popular tourist destinations in this region include the stunning Lake Ohrid and Mavrovo National Park, home to Mount Korab which serves as a natural border between Albania and North Macedonia.

There are many interesting cultural landmarks throughout the region such as Stobi City ruins in Gradsko which date back to around 500BC. This archaeological site holds artifacts from various ancient civilizations that once inhabited the area. Additionally, near Veles lies the Kozjak Monastery which was built during Ottoman rule in 15th century and remains one of the most beautiful monasteries in North Macedonia today.

The Vardar Region provides visitors with plenty to explore whether they're interested in nature or history-related activities; it is also host to some of best local foods like tavce gravce (beans) and tarator (yogurt soup).
