Visit Trøndelag

Trondelag is a region located in the center of Norway, and the most populous of all Norwegian provinces. Its two main cities are Trondheim, known as the historic capital of Norway, and Steinkjer. The area has rich history stretching back to Viking times, and many sites from that era can still be seen today.

Today, Trondelag provides visitors with a variety of activities to pursue during their stay. A must-see is Ringve Museum in Trondheim which houses an impressive collection of musical instruments from around the world. Visitors can wander through the gardens or attend one of their concerts or workshops. Another popular activity is to take an idyllic cruise down Namsen River near Steinkjer for spectacular views surrounded by lush forested hillsides and calm waterfalls - perfect for wildlife watching!

For those interested in history, tourists will find plenty to explore in this region as well. In 800 AD Viking king Olav Tryggvason established his kingdom here at Avaldsnes where he was crowned King of Norway - making it one of the oldest royal sites in all Europe!
