Visit Koror

The Koror of Palau is the largest and most populous state in the Republic of Palau. It is home to the capital city of Ngerulmud and its population makes up roughly 70% of Palau's total population.

Koror has long been a popular tourist destination, thanks to its stunning blue waters and abundant marine life. Some popular attractions include exploring the Rock Islands, kayaking around Milky Way Lagoon, snorkeling at Jellyfish Lake and diving at Ulong Island.

Koror has a rich history rooted in centuries-old traditions and legends. One interesting historical fact is that it was once an independent kingdom before becoming part of Germany's Pacific Empire in 1899. During this period, German settlers established a trading post on Malakal Island which later became known as Koror Town. Today, visitors can explore this area which remains one of the most culturally significant sites for locals.
