Visit Ngaraard

The Ngaraard region of the beautiful island nation of Palau is located in the north-west corner of the country. It is notable for its stunning scenery, including gorgeous beaches, lush forests and picturesque coral reefs. In addition to this natural beauty, Ngaraard has a rich cultural heritage that makes it an interesting place to explore.

One must-see destination in Ngaraard is Ichoukuri Cave, a three-level limestone cave system nestled among the tree-covered hillsides with impressive stalactites and stalagmites inside. A second recommended tourist spot is Ngardmau Waterfall which cascades over two tiers into a large swimming hole surrounded by tropical palms and other lush greenery.

An interesting historical fact about ngaraard province was that it served as one of the central locations for negotiations between local leaders who signed Palau's Constitution in 1979; this document declared independence from nearby Micronesia and created modern Palauan society as we now know it.
