Visit Ngardmau


The Ngardmau region of Palau is a beautiful place full of natural beauty and culture. Located on the western shoreline of Babeldaob, Palau's largest island, Ngardmau spans over 15 villages and offers breathtaking views of lush rainforest surrounded by mountains and turquoise waters. Some notable places to visit in Ngardmau include Jellyfish Lake (Ongeim'l Tketau) which features thousands of golden jellyfish swimming in its salty waters; as well as the iconic Stone Money Bank (Chelechol ra Orrak), made from ancient limestone discs weighing up to 8 tons that were once used as currency by pre-colonial tribes in the area.

Ngardmau also has several interesting historical attractions such as Ulong Island with its ancient petroglyphs carved into its limestone surface; and Ngatpang State Historic Park with its ancient sites telling stories about Palaung people's origin. This region also has a long standing tradition with traditional medicine and healing practices that are still part of local culture today.
