Visit Ngatpang

The Ngatpang are an ethnic group native to the island nation of Palau. The population is relatively small, estimated at around 5,000 individuals, and they make up roughly 18% of the total population. The Ngatpang are known for their rich culture and traditions that have been passed down through generations. They often speak both English and Palauan languages as well as local dialects.

Tourists visiting Palau should be sure to visit some of the Ngatpang cultural sites such as Babeldaob Island or Rock Islands Southern Lagoon which are great places to learn more about the group's history and culture. Other popular attractions include Peleliu Island where visitors can explore World War II battle sites or Ngardmau Waterfall which has a beautiful view of the jungle below.

An interesting historical fact about the Ngatpang is that they have their own alphabet known as 'bai kak'. This unique alphabet was created by Chief kak in 1910 and is still used today for writing traditional stories, songs, histories and other texts in their language.
