Visit Sonsorol

The Sonsorol region of Palau is a remote, beautiful island paradise located in the Western Caroline Islands. This region consists of four small islands: Sonsorol, Merir, Fana and Pulo Anna. It has some of the best snorkeling spots in the world with crystal clear water teeming with marine life.

For tourists looking for a unique experience, two popular places to visit are Faadaes Cave and Dogoroi Waterfall. Faadaes Cave is an ancient limestone cave filled with stalactites and stalagmites that tell stories about its past inhabitants who used this cave as shelter thousands of years ago. Dogoroi Waterfall is an impressive sight to behold; cascading down a rock wall into natural pools below after months of rain during the wet season in Palau.

Sonsorol also holds much historical significance for its people - it was once home to generations of people living off nature's resources until 1783 when Europeans arrived on its shores bringing Christianity and modern tools for trade such as metal blades and axes which changed their traditional way of life drastically forever.
