Visit Chimbu

The Chimbu region of Papua New Guinea is a ruggedly beautiful area of the country located amidst the lush highlands. Its terrain ranges from rainforest to mountainous slopes and beautiful valleys, providing an abundance of opportunities for adventure and exploration. One particularly noteworthy site is the Tari Gap, which lies in between two mountains and offers stunning views along with a variety of activities such as trekking, bird watching, and river rafting. The region also boasts numerous waterfalls including Donki Falls & Maguli Falls that are worth exploring if time permits.

Aside from its natural beauty, the Chimbu region has a rich cultural heritage with distinctive traditional music and art forms. As part of this history it was once home to some of PNG's most powerful clans who fought against colonial forces during WWII until they were eventually defeated after 4 years of struggle in 1945.

The Chimbu region is a great destination for those looking to explore both the natural world around them as well as gain insight into its diverse culture - not to mention spectacular views! Tourists can visit nearby Mt Wilhelm or take part in one-of-a-kind cultural tours organized by local organizations like 'Chimbus Arts Tours' while there - truly an unforgettable experience!
