The Paraguari department is located in central Paraguay and is named after the Paraguari River that flows through it. It is known as the birthplace of national hero Jose Gaspar Rodriguez de Francia, who helped shape modern day Paraguay.

Paraguari has some of the most stunning landscapes in all of South America, from its lush jungles to its grassy plains and valleys, making it a great tourist destination. There are many places to visit such as Parque Nacional Ybycui with its diverse wildlife and breathtaking views or La Santisima Trinidad de Parana which was founded by Francia in 1808 and was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1993.

This war ultimately left a deep mark on both local culture and language with many words being derived from Portuguese terms used then by Brazilian soldiers who invaded this region at the time.
