Visit Cusco

Cusco is a city located in the Peruvian Andes, and is known as the "Historical Capital of Peru". It was once the capital of the Inca Empire and has become an important tourist destination in South America.

One popular attraction for visitors to Cusco is Sacsayhuaman, a fortress made up of large stone walls constructed by the Incas. Other attractions include exploring local markets like San Pedro or La Plazuela de San Blas and visiting nearby villages such as Ollantaytambo and Pisac to get a glimpse into traditional indigenous culture.

Another popular draw for tourists to Cusco is Machu Picchu, located about 80 kilometers from the city center. This sacred site was built around 1450 AD and stands as an impressive reminder of Incan engineering prowess.

An interesting historical fact about Cusco is that it was once considered by the Incans to be the navel (or center) of their empire because it encloses within its limits many places related to rituals dedicated to their gods.
