The city itself is relatively compact which makes it easy to explore by foot. In San Luis you can visit the Templo San Jose Obrero - one of Peru's most historically important religious buildings - or El Mirador de la Cruz de los Andes where you can enjoy impressive views over part of the region's mountainous landscape. In addition to its architectural heritage and natural beauty, San Luis has several popular cultural activities including traditional festivals such as La Fiesta del Senor de Limoncillo held each year on August 15th when locals carry colorful flags through town in honor of their patron saint - El Senor de Limoncillo.
