Discover San Luis

 
San Luis is a city located in the south of Peru, in the Arequipa Region about 76 kilometers from the city of Arequipa. It has an elevation of 3,087 m (10,130 ft) above sea level and a population of 12,367 inhabitants as of 2017. The climate is mild to cold with a temperate semi-arid climate with frequent fog and occasional showers during winter.

The city itself is relatively compact which makes it easy to explore by foot. In San Luis you can visit the Templo San Jose Obrero - one of Peru's most historically important religious buildings - or El Mirador de la Cruz de los Andes where you can enjoy impressive views over part of the region's mountainous landscape. There are also several markets selling local produce that are worth exploring.

In addition to its architectural heritage and natural beauty, San Luis has several popular cultural activities including traditional festivals such as La Fiesta del Senor de Limoncillo held each year on August 15th when locals carry colorful flags through town in honor of their patron saint - El Senor de Limoncillo.
