Visit Tacna

Tacna is a province located in the extreme south of Peru, bordering Chile and Bolivia. Tacna has a warm climate throughout the year and is known for its beaches, vineyards, archaeological sites and picturesque landscapes.

One of the main attractions in Tacna is Plaza de Armas, an important commercial center surrounded by mansions with colonial-style facades. It's also home to San Miguel Arcangel Church, built in 1783 from stones taken from an old Inca fortress. Nearby you can visit Corralito de Piedra National Monument - which consists of hundreds of large rocks shaped like small houses - or take a tour to La Quebrada del Toro, where locals perform a daring ritual every June 24th while jumping into a crevice between two cliffs!

In addition to these tourist attractions, explorers will find several archaeological sites that pre-date Incan civilization such as Ticaco Pampa or Quilahuani Chico ruins belonging to ancient cultures such as the Cupisnique and Salinar civilizations. As an interesting historical fact about Tacna province is that it was one of the territories chosen as battlefields between Chile and Peru during their War of 1879-1883 (known as the Pacific War).
