Visit Eastern Visayas


Eastern Visayas of the Philippines is a region located on the eastern coast of the Visayan Sea. It comprises six provinces, namely
Leyte, Southern Leyte, Eastern Samar, Northern Samar, Biliran and Samar. The region is known for its stunning beaches and diverse marine life. Tourists visiting Eastern Visayas should not miss the pristine white sand beaches of Kalanggaman Island in Palompon, Leyte and the beautiful coral gardens in Calicoan Island in Guiuan, Eastern Samar.

For those interested in history, Eastern Visayas has much to offer as well. The Battle of Leyte Gulf that took place during World War II was one of the largest naval battles in history and it occurred off these shores. It's also where General Douglas MacArthur made his famous return to liberate the Philippines from Japanese rule in 1944.
