Visit Zamboanga Peninsula
The Zamboanga Peninsula is a region in the western part of the Philippines, located on the island of Mindanao. It is composed of three provinces - Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur and Zamboanga Sibugay. Its capital city is Pagadian City.
The region offers a unique experience with its exotic blend of cultural influences from Spanish, Chinese, Filipino and indigenous people's customs. Historically speaking, during WW II Japanese Imperial forces occupied parts of Western Mindanao including areas within the peninsula for one year until American troops together with Filipino guerrilla forces managed to establish control over them again in 1945 thus liberating local communities from foreign occupation.
