Visit Greater Poland Voivodeship


The Greater Poland Voivodeship is a region located in the west-central part of Poland. This province has a variety of attractions for visitors to explore, from lively cities to picturesque countryside, and several UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Popular sites include Poznan Cathedral, where St. Wojciech (St Adalbert) was martyred in 997 AD; Biskupin archaeological open-air museum; and Ostrow Lednicki island, home to the world's oldest Christian church ruins. Other interesting attractions include the fortified city walls of Gniezno and Kruszwica Castle with its beautiful gardens.
