The Malopolskie region of Poland is located in the south part of the country, just north and east of Krakow. This unique region has a historical and cultural heritage that dates back centuries, with attractions for visitors to explore.

One of the top tourist sites to visit is Wawel Castle - a former royal residence and major landmark in Krakow. Closely associated with the nation's history, this historic castle complex features stunning architecture, extensive collections of art from throughout Europe, and an impressive defensive system that was once used by Polish royalty.

Visitors can also explore Zakopane - often referred to as "the winter capital" of Poland due to its ski slopes and winter activities for tourists. An interesting fact from this area is that it was home to astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus who had his astronomical observatory located here until his death in 1543.
